U Tub

In the past three days, a social scientist made a point. The scientist claimed that electronic platforms , youtube or facebook, in an attempt to get us to click. The platforms will present the user with more of the same type of content. To ensure continued clicking the platform operator will steer increasingly provocative material. In this way, the user will only reinforce their own prejudices and fantasies, Questions of truth will suffer.

This lament and fear fails to include one factor. So many of the radical groups quarrel with each other over fine points of whatever passes for doctrine. The groups dissipate their power In this way, these groups fashion their own end.

Given this background, we can click away. We should avoid complacency and obsession.

Simper something or other.

C4 H2 O

A fair number of people who should know say that the U S A has too much corn. .   Farmers can’t  sell the stuff.

Why not take the GMO corn and make ethanol out of it.
Have you seen what a premium bourbon  goes for?
Have we exhausted our supply of oaken barrels?

Tap Dance Through The Tulips

For a while now, I have failed to develop intense hostility to tRump.

Why?

tRump has tap danced his way through things.  He faked it.

I, sometimes, feel that I’ve tap danced.   But, I’ve also done a buck & wing. I've also been in a kick line or two.  That's how I started my back troubles.

Pity, I didn’t have a dad to bail me out.

Homeless II More From The Two Wise Folk

Back in the day --  2007  to  8 --  the real estate fantasy began it’s spectacular crumble.  Banks repossessed homes of people who could not make the mortage payments.

Soon, many banks found themselves holding large numbers of houses.  Soon public radio reports spoke of foreclosed houses sitting vacant, deteriorating from neglect, and the banks not quite sure of what to do.

The two wise ones asked yesterday what would have happened if, instead of foreclosing on the mortgage holder the banks would have made arrangements for and renegotiated monthly payments and interest rates.  Banks would have thereby keep houses occupied instead of neglected.

Now why didn’t I think of that at the time.  Who says I didn’t?  I can’t remember.
Aren’t you all proud of me.    I refrained from in inveighing against bankers.  I also did not rant on about the utterly contemptable bourgeois reactionary  nuts who blamed anybody but the banks and their foolishness.
Yeah TawM!

Homeless

Two wise people provoked this.  Often the homeless adapt so well to their circumstances.   These adapted folk frequently resist  a change in their circumstances.   In so doing they free themselves from coping with  the decisions that go with apartments or homes.

These thoughts occurred.  Men, at least,, get into camping, boys scouts, and even the army.  Especially in the army the systems makes a bunch of descisions for the soldier.  The system also feeds the soldier.  So, doesn’t homelessness resemble however slightly the army.

In addition, homelessness  resembles the hunting – gathering period humans  went though prior to domesticating animals and developing agriculture.
