Some right wing reactionary types choose to see this as part of a vast Jii - had against Western Kulture.

             Think of it as a social psychological experiment...if you can detach a bit. I think it's fascinating, each day is filled with surprises. You can see the man changing before your eyes:back-peddling, softening, stammering as he gets asked about preposterous indefensible promises he made on the campaign trail. If you were standing on the super close Super Moon, looking down on Washington like a laboratory, you'd see him attempting to run the labrinths and mazes and looking for that door to another universe that his magical thinking installed.

                He wanted to WIN! He didn't want the JOB!

                Just watch him squirm, but philosophically.

The material comes from a series of e-mails between Anne and myself.  I have known Anne since -- well lets not talk about that now.

Despite what a lot of us would like to believe, a lot of folk in this country do not feel empowered by the quiche eating left.  And, they may not care for bottled mineral water even though i t came from an artic glcier.

They may not have college educations.   They may not actually be suited to the abstract considerations to which the rest of us find ourselves drawn.  Their jobs may have shipped off shore or have shut down due to some environmental regulation.The golden promises of the mid ninties dealing with different areas of employment have not materialized.  The predictions government and educators made regarding future careers have failed to appear. And, these folk feel abandon.  So also, might the college graduate with a masters in finance who at twenty eight and single plys their trade as a barista at the latest boom / bust coffe shop. 

All of the above may have voted for him.  In addition, menials who have trouble relating to anything except the next -- what is the in word for  WOW thing  --  ADHD --  stayed at home because voting wasn't kewl.  She just wasn't sexy or whatever the reason -- Bevis and fuck you butthead thank you very much --.  And let's not forget those limitless numbers of other minority groups for whom that last eight years failed to deliver the lemon drops beyond the chimney tops, failed to kiss their ass,   and in general didn't pander to whatever irrational version of  utopia they might have imagined.   These too stayed hom.
Sorry just can't produce clear prose to night  too pissed. 

Oh,  I'm sorry, I had inteneded to be conciliatory in this.  WTF.  Well back on track.  Here comes the hopeful part. 

I intend to do what lies immeidately before me.  I will do it one day at a time.   If some god dammed son  of  a bitch  lets him have the football, I'll hunt that SOB down and kill him, her, or it.  I've been reading books about how to dispactch a person and take a long time to do it.  I will not limit myself to paralyzing the victim and siccing scvengers on him --- vultures  hyenas  wolves. And, don't you dare say a god dammed word about jesus.  You hear me mother fucker.

On Clowns And The Fear Thereof

I recently saw a Nova type blurb titled Odyssey.  It dealt with the recent evolution of homo sapiens and our distribution throughout the world.   

The blurb held that sometime around one hundred thousand years ago in Eurasia five species, of hominids, including us, roamd around.  Several of these were smaller in stature than us. And, Neanderthal was largger in stature. Yet we survived and they dies out.  

Now before you start chanting Only The Strong Survive, be it known that we survived becaused we exceded all in cunning, craft, and skill but not strength.  I have another lecture planned on the evils of the misrepresentations of Darin's theory, eugenics, and German National Socialism.  

Now, I hold that we have a distinct memory hard wired into our brain tissue of the other hominid species.  These memories show up in the persistence of fairies, trolls, and Trumps in our folk tales. 

But let us consider the trolls and other fearsome spectors.  We would have undoubtedly had to compete with the other species for resources such as caves, food, and votes. Certainly, that competition could not always have gone smoothly.  It surely must have put some of us in peril.  

QED:  From thence comes the fear of clowns.  What is a clown anyway.  A creature whose skin is not like ours.  Whose hair  bears no resemblance to ours.  And, whose behaviour, especially in front of a television camera / political debate shows no sign civilization and is punctuated with grunts and spitting. 

Jubalee

The much sought and longed for equality of all will not come about untill the whole system has failed.  I believe it must fal apart.  The goodies to which we all cling must pass away.  We must have empty hands. 

This state will look dark and foreboding.  No one perso or movement can bring it about.  The system must die of it's own inertia.  I derive this line of thought from systems theory.  I also arrive at it from my own experience.  Life has had to take away the destructive toys from me in order for me to even begin to reform.  And, I have many areas which only lie dormant.  

Of course, yu may and will have other ideas.  But, consider this from systems theory.  All complex system fail.

Among other things, it relates how for many years Poland only recognized marriages contracted by the Roman Catholic Church.  This made the children of Jewish marriages bastards.  One could pay a heafty fee to authorities to have the child legitimized by the state.

Yes, for Macbeth surely it must seem.  Witches had prophesied.  Or had theyt?  Instead may one not say that they instead read the depths of Maribeth's ambition.  Did he, Macbeth allow himself to even  acknowledge on a conscious level this ambition.  The ambition to rise in power.  The ambition for kingship.  

But, at this point in act five scene five when Macbeth pronounces on life, he has followed the trail of his ambition to it's end.  Given that all has turned upside down from where Macbeth thought he would have it one can see his point.   But, one might also see The playwrights point.  That the vanity of this world fades and does so fast.   It leaves us with the taste of ashes in the mouth.   

We have those stolid time honored sources of wisdom as guides.  They warn us away from ambition for vanity.  They tell us that life may have no meaning or purpose.  But, that, if that be so, it then falls to us to crate our own and do so wisely. 

Wisdom -- Pay attention now y'all

     I recently heard a W. F. Buckley type conservative on NPR speculate on 

Trumps appeal.   The appeal comes from a kind of nationalism.  

     The nationalism does not resemble the fiscal small government conservatism of Buckley and Goldwater.  It has strog elemts of jingoism and chauvinism it it.   It relies primarily on emotion and  fear as opposed to reason and responsibility.   

     Pat Buchanan has indulged in this kind of spin since the early ninties.  Whether it's anti-migrant rhetoric resembels the anti-antisemitism of depression pre-war Germany remains to be seen.  For my part it does.  

     Trump will say anything to get attention.  He will do anything without considering the consequences.  Like any other American business person, he only considers the short run.,   Like John M Caines, "... in the long run we're all dead."

Maybe the phrase white nationalist isn't quite clear.  It means racist.  They have a personal bias against people who do not hail from North European extraction.  Mind you, Arabs and Turks who have lived for generations in Paris or Berlin don't count.  You got to be white.

What to do.  Join the NPI.  Infiltrate their meetings.  subtly disrupt their operations, directions and goals.  And, by all means document your findings.  Report your findings to entities like Mother Jones, The Village voice, Rolling Stone,  and your local progressive periodicals.

Giving up

Spring is here.

Spring has come again. Friends of mine now labor in the soil planting gardens. So I feel compelled to relay this. 

A while back, three bus routes  passed by this garden.  The gardener planted corn every year.  The garden set next to the high tension power lines  on La Vista road.

The only thing missing were the white washed tractor tires.

The short version:

Homosexual behaviour is normal.  It was so prevalent that it threatens the breeding patterns and family structure of the Hebrews. The  Hebrews surrounded by   hostile groups  had to breed like crazy.


Background
What does this mean?

First, all the rules in Leviticus at the heart of the matter deal with  questions of identity.  The Hebrew tribes have the task of differentiating themselves from the tribes around them.   This task feell to them before and after the Babylonian captivity.

Captive in Babylon, the elders set about to write down what had hitherto lived in memory and recitation.  The focus on identity took on an overwhelming facit of Hebraic existence.  After all, they lived among a people who had conquered them.  The Bab ylonians possessed wealth and power which the Hebrews did not. This surely must have shamed the Hebrews:  Left them  with the taste of ashes in their mouths.

So the Children of Abraham write down their scriptures. And, every step of the way, they reinforce the us vs them paradigm.  This included their sexual habits.

Now, to the point,  instead of male homosexual behaviour occuring only rarely in the larger non-Hebraic community, it could very well have run rampant.  And so, the Habraic elders in Babylon felt the need to say in loud and clear terms "... They do that.  We don't..."   This has special import if one seeks to grow the tribe to a strength sufficent to accomplish a reconquista.
 
In fact, chapter 8 of Leviticus seems devoted to reguloating sexual behaviour.  It only lacks the admonition to keep a stud book   The rest of the book seems to guard against inbreeding.

Behavioural health people aver that forcing a person to look outside the immediate family builds character strength.  The person has to venture into the unknown. 

Homosexual behaviour gets in the way of breeding.  But, it also disrupts family life.  It interrupts the attachment of one partner for the other.  It does take two minimum to raise kids.  This argument lacks something, though.  That something is that heterosexual mates who go looking for it outside marriage disrupt family life just as much as if they sought homosexual contact.  So Thgere.  

Now Paul.  Poor old Paul.  Bad press.  He's been deconstructed out of  existance.  Here goes.

Paul lacks the  capacity to see that two men or two women can hae a solid bonded relationship.  He also does not realize one thing. The external genitalia are not the priciple sex organs.   The brain is. Few in his day could have seen that. 

Paul may had one thing right.   Rampent promiscuity does little or nothing good for us.  It only encourages us to treat each other as objects instead of peopple.  In engaging in promiscuous behaviour we deprive ourselves of the opportunity to know one person deeply and hence ourselves deeply.

But wait, I hear you say, this applies to heterosexuals as well as homosexuals. Yes it does.

Personality & Politics Conservative vs. Liberal

The election of a president once again pushes it's way into the CNN news stream. Our consciousness and short attention span may be something else.

Last year a Sunday school class exposed me to the idea that personality factors such as risk aversion underlies our affinity for a liberal or conservative stance.

I write this in the hope that such information will undermine the ego  trip that I and a lot of folk get on.  I delude myself that my viewpoint will do the best for the most.  That has less to do with it than the factors in my personality that make me up every day.

Racial Intolerance

I hard, in the past few days, a person on WABE assert that racial intolerance had increased. 
Really?  Is that so?  

Or,

do we choose these days to acknowledge it's existence.  

By 

acknowledge it's existence many of us can take the responsibility to denounce it and to denounce and condemn those who practice it;    

I refuse to believe that no matter how frightened those white policemen may have been their only reourse l;ay in gunning down the person. I will not believe that.
